Description
The Japanese wing nut (Pterocarya rhoifolia) is an upright, pyramidal tree that produces green flowers arranged in catkins. They appear from April to May. These produce brown fruits. The Japanese wing nut also bears pinnate, fresh green leaves. Its bark is grey-brown. In a sunny to semi-shady location with nutrient-rich, moist to wet soil, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres.
