Description
The Yakushima rhododendron 'Morgenrot' (Rhododendron yakushimanum) produces a veritable sea of pink flowers from mid-May to the end of May. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. This broad, compact-growing shrub usually reaches a height of 1.2 - 1.6 m and a width of 2 to 2.2 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and humus-rich, lime-free soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Yakushima rhododendron 'Morgenrot' is well tolerant of frost.
