Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Geisha Red' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of red flowers in May. Its winter-green foliage is dark green. This upright, stocky growing shrub usually reaches a height of 20 - 40 cm and a width of 20 to 40 cm. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create ideal conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Geisha Red' is well tolerant of frost.
