Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Herbert' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of pink-coloured flowers from April to May. Its winter-green foliage is dark green. This bushy, broad-growing shrub usually reaches a height of 0.6 - 1.2 m and a width of 0.9 to 1.5 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Herbert' is well tolerant of frost.
