Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Kirstin' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of dark pink flowers from the end of May to mid-June. Its winter-green foliage is dark green. This upright, stocky growing shrub usually reaches a height of 30 - 40 cm and a width of 40 to 60 cm. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create ideal conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Kirstin' is well tolerant of frost.
