Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Kleiner Prinz' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of purple-red flowers from May to June. Its winter-green foliage is medium green. This upright, stocky growing shrub usually reaches a height of 0.5 - 1.5 m and a width of 0.5 to 1.5 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Kleiner Prinz' is well tolerant of frost.
