Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Lady Dark'® (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of magenta-coloured flowers from late May to early June. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. This upright, compact shrub usually reaches a height of 0.5–1.5 m and a width of 0.5–1.5 m. A semi-shaded (to shaded) position and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil provide optimal conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Lady Dark'® is highly frost-tolerant.
