Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Madame Albert van Hecke' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of pink-coloured flowers from mid-May to the end of May. Its winter-green foliage is dark green. This upright, stocky growing shrub usually reaches a height of 30 - 60 cm and a width of 60 to 90 cm. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create ideal conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Madame Albert van Hecke' is well tolerant of frost.
