Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Mary Helen' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of white flowers from April to May. Its winter-green foliage is medium green. This upright, stocky growing shrub usually reaches a height of 0.5 - 1.5 m and a width of 0.5 to 1.5 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Mary Helen' is well tolerant of frost.
