Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Silver Sword' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of red flowers from May to June. Its evergreen foliage is dark green with a white leaf edge. This bushy, broad-growing shrub usually reaches a height of 50 - 60 cm and a width of 70 to 90 cm. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create ideal conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Silver Sword' is well tolerant of frost.
