The Dwarf purple rhododendron 'Blue Diamond' (Rhododendron impeditum) produces a veritable sea of blue-violet flowers from April to May. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. This upright, bushy, broad, dense-growing shrub usually reaches a height of 30 - 40 cm and a width of 0.6 to 1 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and humus-rich, lime-free soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Dwarf purple rhododendron 'Blue Diamond' is well tolerant of frost.
