Description
The Mountain rosebay 'Grandiflorum' (Rhododendron catawbiense) produces a veritable sea of lilac-coloured flowers with yellow-red markings from the beginning of June to the end of June. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. This bushy, densely growing shrub usually reaches a height of 5 - 6 metres and a width of 3 to 4 metres. A semi-shady (to shady) location and a humus-rich, lime-free soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Mountain rosebay 'Grandiflorum' is well tolerant of frost.
