Description
The Bureau rhododendron 'Hydon Velvet' (Rhododendron bureavii) produces a veritable sea of creamy-white flowers from late May to mid-June. Its evergreen, dark-green foliage is also very decorative. Even the light-brown new growth is eye-catching. This compact, rounded shrub usually reaches a height of 1–1.2 m and a width of 1–1.2 m. A semi-shaded (to shaded) position and humus-rich, lime-free soil provide the ideal conditions for healthy growth. The Bureau rhododendron 'Hydon Velvet' is highly frost-tolerant.
