Description
The Pontica rhododendron 'Variegatum' (Rhododendron ponticum) produces a veritable sea of purple flowers in June. Its evergreen foliage is dark green with a yellow leaf edge. This upright, broad, roundish growing shrub usually reaches a height of 60 - 80 cm and a width of 1.2 to 1.4 metres. A semi-shady (to shady) location and humus-rich, lime-free soil create optimum conditions for healthy growth. The Pontica rhododendron 'Variegatum' is well tolerant of frost.
