Description
The Rhododendron 'Queen Bee' (Rhododendron tsariense) produces a veritable sea of bright yellow flowers from mid-April to early May. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. Even the orange-yellow new shoot is an eye-catcher. This broad, compact, rounded shrub usually grows to a height of 60 - 80 cm and a width of 0.8 to 1 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and well-drained, nutrient-rich, slightly acidic soil create ideal conditions for healthy growth. The Rhododendron 'Queen Bee' is well tolerant of frost.
