Description
The Yakushima rhododendron 'Koichiro Wada' (Rhododendron yakushimanum) produces a veritable sea of white flowers from mid-May to early June. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. Even the olive-green new shoot is an eye-catcher. This stocky, rounded shrub usually reaches a height of 50 - 80 cm and a width of 1 to 1.5 metres. A semi-shady (to shady) location and a humus-rich, lime-free, slightly acidic soil create ideal conditions for healthy growth. The Yakushima rhododendron 'Koichiro Wada' is well tolerant of frost.
