Description
The Buffalo currant (Ribes aureum) is an upright, vigorous shrub that produces golden yellow flowers arranged in clusters with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from April to May. These produce black fruits from July. They are small and exude a pleasant fragrance. The Buffalo currant also has roundish, light green leaves. Its bark is brown-yellow in colour. In a sunny to shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to around 3 metres wide. The Buffalo currant makes no special demands on the soil.
