Description
The Arctic willow (Salix aurita) is a broad, branched shrub that produces yellow flowers arranged in catkins. They appear from March to April. The Arctic willow also has matt, egg-shaped, medium green leaves. Its bark is black and deeply fissured. In a sunny to semi-shady location with lime-free, moist to wet soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 3 metres and grows to a width of approx. 3 metres.
