Description
The Coyote willow (Salix exigua) is an overhanging, picturesque, deciduous large shrub with decorative, cut, silver-grey leaves. It also bears yellow flowers arranged in catkins from April to May. In a sunny location with well-drained, loose, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 7 metres and grows to a width of around 2.5 metres.

A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.

Flower
The yellow flowers of Coyote willow appear in catkins from April to May. These grow to about 3 - 5 cm in size.
