The Whorled clary 'Purple Rain' (Salvia verticillata) is an upright perennial that produces purple-violet, lip-shaped flowers in July. Repeated flowering occurs in September with the right care. Its heart-shaped leaves are grey-green. In a sunny location with well-drained, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm and grows approx. 40 cm wide.
