Description
The Black elder 'Black Beauty'® (Sambucus nigra) is a broad, loose, deciduous large shrub with decorative, pinnate, red-brown leaves. It also bears pink-coloured flowers arranged in umbrella clusters from May to June. These produce black-blue, round fruits from August. They exude a light fragrance. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humusy, calcareous, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 5 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.
