Description
The Black elder 'Golden Spark' (Sambucus nigra) is a broad, loose, deciduous shrub with decorative, pinnate, dark green leaves with a green-white margin. It also bears creamy white flowers arranged in umbrella clusters from June to July. These produce black, round fruits from August. They exude a light fragrance. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humusy, calcareous, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to around 1.2 metres wide.
