Description
The Black elder 'Serenade'® (Sambucus nigra) is an upright, compact large shrub that produces white flowers arranged in umbrella clusters with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from June to July. They produce black, round fruits from August. They exude a pleasant fragrance. The Black elder 'Serenade'® also has pinnate, greenish-yellow leaves. The pink-red shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is grey, corky and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humusy, calcareous, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 2.5 m and grows to approx. 1.5 m wide.
