Description
The California peppertree (Schinus molle) is a very popular, evergreen container plant which, with proper care, can produce red fruit. Its decorative flowers appear in April. It should be planted in a position that is as sunny as possible or in partial shade. Well-drained, loose and nutrient-rich soil is ideal. Under favourable conditions, the California peppertree reaches a height of approx. 2 m and spreads up to 1.5 m.

Care
- Over time, the soil loses some important properties. Plants should therefore be transplanted into a larger pot with fresh potted plant soil every two years in spring. - Tub plants should be checked for diseases and pests before being brought indoors so that they can be controlled if necessary. Otherwise they will multiply quickly in a warm house.

Schinus molle forms yellow flowers from April.

Fruit
The red fruits of Schinus molle are particularly decorative. These appear from September.
