Description
The Blessed Mary´s thistle (Silybum marianum) is an upright perennial that produces purple-red flowers from June to September. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 m and grows to a width of approx. 70 cm. The Blessed Mary´s thistle is well tolerant of frost.
