Description
The Skimmie 'Olympic Flame' (Skimmia japonica) is a bushy, compact small shrub with decorative, red, round fruits that stay on for a very long time. These exude a strong fragrance. In May, it produces red-pink coloured flowers arranged in panicles. The Skimmie 'Olympic Flame' also has shiny, leathery, broadly lanceolate, dark green leaves. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1.2 metres.
