Description
The Japanese spirea (Spiraea nipponica) is a funnel-shaped, overhanging shrub that produces white flowers arranged in corymbs. They appear from May to June. The Japanese spirea also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is dark brown. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 2.5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 3 metres.
