Description
The Japanese snowbell (Styrax japonicus) is a broad, branched large shrub with decorative, creamy white, oval fruits. These exude a pleasant fragrance. It produces white, bell-shaped flowers arranged in clusters from June to July. The Japanese snowbell also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 8 metres and grows to a width of around 8 metres.

Leaves
The deciduous leaves of the Japanese snowbells are dark green, ovate, alternate, with entire margins. They are about 2 - 4 cm in size.
