Description
The Rouen lilac (Syringa chinensis) is an upright, loose, overhanging large shrub that produces lilac-coloured flowers arranged in panicles with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from May to June. The Rouen lilac also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny location with well-drained, calcareous, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 5 metres and is around 4 metres wide.
