Description
The Rouen lilac 'Saugeana' (Syringa chinensis) is an upright, loose, overhanging large shrub that produces magenta-coloured flowers arranged in panicles with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from May to June. The Rouen lilac 'Saugeana' also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny location with well-drained, calcareous, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 4 metres and grows to a width of approx. 4 metres.
