Description
The Swamp cypress (Taxodium distichum) is a large tree that grows in a conical shape and usually reaches a height of around 40 metres and a width of around 10 metres. Its needle-shaped leaves are light green in colour. They turn a beautiful red-brown in autumn. Decorative brown cones adorn Taxodium distichum from October. This shrub tolerates frost well. It prefers well-drained, nutrient-rich, moist to wet soil in a sunny, sheltered position.
