Description
The English yew (Taxus baccata) is a small tree that grows upright and usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and a width of around 10 metres. Its needle-shaped leaves are dark green in colour. Decorative red cones adorn Taxus baccata from September. This shrub is well tolerant of frost and prefers well-drained, calcareous, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny to semi-shady position.
