Description
The Western red cedar 'Gelderland' (Thuja plicata) is a large shrub that grows densely in a conical shape and usually reaches a height of around 8 metres and a width of around 1 metre. Its scale-like leaves have a medium green colour. Decorative brown cones adorn Thuja plicata 'Gelderland' from August. This shrub is well tolerant of frost and prefers well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic, slightly acidic soil in a sunny to semi-shady position.
