Description
The Small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata) is a large, roundish tree that produces yellow flowers arranged in umbels with a pleasant fragrance. They appear in July. They produce grey-green, round fruits from September. They exude a pleasant fragrance. The Small-leaved lime also has heart-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is grey and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 30 metres and grows to a width of around 15 metres.
