The Chusan palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) is a very popular evergreen container plant. The dark green leaves are fingered and deeply slit. The location should be as sunny and sheltered as possible. A well-drained, nutrient-rich and slightly acidic soil is ideal. Under favourable conditions, the Chusan palm reaches a height of approx. 4 m and grows up to 3 m wide.
