Description
The European white elm (Ulmus laevis) is a broad, ovoid large tree that produces purple-red flowers arranged in umbels. They appear from March to April. Green-brown winged fruits emerge from these from June. The European white elm also has medium green leaves. Its bark is dark brown and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny to semi-shady location with loose, nutrient-rich, moist to wet soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 35 metres and grows to a width of approx. 25 metres.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).
