Description
The Japanese snowball (Viburnum plicatum) is a broad, rounded shrub that produces white, later pink-coloured flowers arranged in umbels with a strong fragrance. They appear from May to June. These produce black-red fruits. They exude a strong fragrance. The Japanese snowball also has egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to around 3 metres wide.

Care
- A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time. - Watering less frequently, but thoroughly and thoroughly, encourages the plant roots to penetrate deeper into the soil. This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.

Flower
The white, later pink-coloured, double flowers of the Japanese snowball appear in clusters from May to June. These are strongly scented.
