Description
The Greater periwinkle (Vinca major) is a creeping, mat-forming, evergreen perennial that produces blue-violet, wheel-shaped flowers from May to September. Its leathery, heart-shaped, ciliated leaves are dark green. In a sunny to shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 40 cm and grows to a width of approx. 80 cm. The Greater periwinkle is well tolerant of frost.
