Description
The Weigela 'Purpurea' (Weigela florida) is a bushy, upright, deciduous small shrub with decorative, lanceolate, green-red leaves. The bronze-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. It also bears pink-red, funnel-shaped flowers from June to July. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1.5 metres and grows to around 1.5 metres wide.
